By launching KevWorks LLC, I’m able to deliver my best work by helping clients with matters where I provide the greatest value. My service offerings are a merger of the technology and business consulting skills that I obtained prior to becoming a financial planner with the knowledge and experience that I acquired while running a financial advisory practice. My work product is a unique combination of my knowledge, my time and in general my overall resourcefulness. My work satisfaction comes from solving simple or complex problems for my clients and of course a job well done.

Rather than track my time and work on an hourly basis, I prefer to work for a flat fee which I can usually determine after a short conversation either on the telephone or in person. If together we decide that I can help you, I’ll then e-mail a formal quote with a detailed statement of work and an invoice for 50% of the quoted engagement fee. I’ll provide an invoice for the remaining 50% including any subsequently agreed upon fee changes when my work is completed and our engagement has ended. I accept most major credit cards and e-checks as forms of payment. My minimum fee for any project or engagement is $250.

Although I continued to maintain my CFP® professional certification until April, 2017, I sold my full service financial advisory practice in 2012 and now only provide services for which I am legally entitled to charge a fee. Additionally, I no longer hold the state specific licenses that are required to sell most insurance products, and I no longer hold the Series 7 (FINRA) and Series 66 (NASAA) securities licenses required of investment advisors. The Investment Advisers Act of 1940 is a federal law that defines an “investment adviser” as anyone who, for compensation, engages in the business of advising others about the value of securities or the advisability of investing in, purchasing, or selling securities. What this means to my clients is that I am not in the asset management business; I do not provide investment advice for a fee; I do not sell any investment or insurance products that pay a commission nor do I receive any form of compensation – e.g. referral fees – from any individuals or brokers who offer such products or services.
